4A Debut

Saturday, June 6 was Matthew's MLB debut!  It was so much fun :) The whole family (mine and his) drove down to Cincinnati for the game.  It was against the Chicago Cubs and there were actually a lot of Cubs fans there... the game was sold out.  It was very cool to see a packed stadium for his debut.
He was not nervous at all- as usual.  The kid does not get crazy nerves at all.  He flew to Cincinnati Friday morning before his start.  He said he thought he might be a little nervous to go into the clubhouse, but when he got there, all the boys welcomed him like he'd been there the whole time.  He said it was really cool to be with his buddies that he'd played with before, D-Ray, Paul, Jay, Dickie, Ryan... said he felt very at-home with all of them there.  He was impressed with the older guys being so supportive and welcoming too.  So, that was great to hear.
Matt's start was fantastic!  He pitched 6+ solid innings with SUCH composure- I was so impressed.  He is such a battler and so in control all the time- thats why we compliment each other so well, I think... cause I'm pretty high-stress most of the time...
When Matt came out, it was awesome that his relieving pitcher was D-Ray (his best man).  That was so cool to watch.  D-Ray said he came out of the bullpen and was just thinking, "Theres no way any of these guys are getting on base..."
Matt was pretty tired after his start so we didn't go out and get crazy.  He was so happy.  I can't even describe it.  He had a ball out there and I'm psyched to watch him pitch again.
I am so happy for him.  Looks like we'll be in Cincy for a while... just as I'd gotten most of our stuff to L'ville- hahaha.  Go figure :)

The Show.

Today is the day.

Today Matthew got the call to the big leagues :) And I am so happy for him!  He is so excited... he'll make his major league debut Saturday, June 6 in Cincinnati against the Chicago Cubs.  I have so many emotions pulsing through my body at the moment...

I am so proud of him.  So proud.
I am so happy that all his hard work has been worth while- though I never doubted it would.
I am excited for him to start this whole new chapter in his life.
I am a bit nervous for him, although I know he won't be at all.
I am overwhelmed.  With what?  I can't even say exactly...

Its funny, the way things work out, isn't it?  This morning I texted Matthew, "I think today is the day..." and he texted back, "for what?"
"For your dreams to come true!" I said.  "R we getting married today?" He texted back...

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful man.  He deserves every moment and sensation of glory that he will experience this Saturday.  Here we go!

Moving...

From Columbus:
As far as moves go, this one hasn't been to terrible... yet.  It is always awfully convenient that Matthew is in season when we have to move out of/into an apartment- ha!  This will be my 6th move in 6 years- thats an average of one move per year if you hadn't already done the math...  I know what you're thinking, I should be a pro at it.

Today, I moved out the couch, which we sold to a friend of mine (Johnny).  Also moved a nice lamp, dining room table and chairs and a few other minor things that Johnny is going to use at his place until we know what we're doing after the season.

My last day at Go Fitness was this past Sunday :( It was very bittersweet for me but it is crazy-nice to have all this time during the day to get things organized for the move.  I have been more productive in the last two days than I have in the last two months- seriously.

Anyway, the move is underway and going smoothly so far...  with the way our world turns though, I wouldn't be surprised if as soon as I had everything moved stress-free, Matthew gets the call to 4A...
